Chapter 2

I have lived Seattle for the majority of my life. Other than when I lived in Spokane, where I was born. We lived in Spokane for about three years. I was really young when we lived there, so I barely remember it.
Seattle is great, it's a nice big city! It really has all I could ever want! There are plenty of malls! There's a different coffee shop every block! Other than the constant rain here, I really like this city!
The rain can get just repetitive, and all around depressing! I mean, you always have to wear a raincoat, wherever you go! It gets annoying, you go outside for even for the slightest second without a raincoat, and the next day you're being tormented by a cold.
But enough about Seattle, let's talk about me! My name is Sadie, I'm 16 years old, and I love painting! I enjoy drawing too!
There is a forest about 2 miles from my house that is my inspiration in painting. Most weekends I drive up there and paint the scenery. Just something about the lush green plants and the over cumbersome fog. The complete mystique that it holds, it draws me in and intrigues me.

                             ---

Earlier today I was at the forest painting. I had recently found an abandoned metal shack. It was very rusty and overgrown with weeds and shrubs.
It's surrounded by this vibrant grove of vines, there is also this small little pond right behind it. You can even see the little minnows and tadpoles swimming about.
I went to my car, reached in my trunk; grabbed my easel, a canvas, and some paint. I set my canvas a couple feet away from everything, far enough away to where I could get the abandoned shack, the little pond, and the grove of vines behind it.
So as I'm about 2 hours into painting, I notice a glowing, ambient light coming from behind the grove. So figured I should go check out what it was before I painted it.
So I walk towards the glow, I followed it until it went into the ground. There was a hole about the size of your average manhole. I became more interested as I saw that the light was coming from underground. So went into the manhole, I almost slipped going into it. When I actually got into the hole, it became a lot bigger, I could probably see at least a hundred feet of cave. So I proceed to walk the rest of the cave, the glowing light became brighter and brighter as I walked, I had to keep going.
So as I was walking, I stepped on what looked like bits of burnt and rigid metal. I kept walking, and walking, the light eventually became so consuming, I had to squint or I would be blinded.
The tunnel finally started to close in, as if it was about to end. I got to a dead end, and all I see was a small door, the light was coming from behind the door. I was so confused on why there was a small door, in a random manhole, in the middle of a random forest, It made no sense.
I grabbed what looked like to be a handle, and it wouldn't budge. I didn't travel this far into a random cave to be stopped by a locked door! So I grabbed a big rock that was on the ground and threw it at the handle. After about 30 or so tries, it broke loose! I could finally gain some closure on the mysterious glowing light I kept seeing.
Once I opened the door, the glowing seized. All there was, was this small, floating, palm-sized rock, with what looked like Native American symbols upon it. The whole floating part freaked me out, so I booked it out of there.

                             ---

I quickly left that cave, and went back to that abondoned metal shack. I grabbed all of my stuff, and threw it into my trunk. Then I hastily drove off, back towards my house. That was enough weirdness for one day. So I got home and made me a nice lunch and I tried to forget about it.

Chapter 1

Here out in Seattle, it's not the driest place around, but it has this nice comfort to it. All the rain gives the place a sort of cold and grey hue. There's the fog that constantly engulfs anyone who has the willingness to tread it out.
Then we have the forest. The forest smells of evergreen and morning dew. It looks as if it was set apart from the world as we know. It seems as if it has preserved that long lost prosperity of natural growth. Not touched by the modern glove. I really enjoy being in the forest.
When I go out into the forest, I always feel at peace. Like that I was meant to be there.

                              ---

Back before the move, when I lived in Arkansas, I always felt I was missing something. Something, that I couldn't find in Arkansas. I always felt a pull to somewhere else. It wasn't a direct notion, I just knew I wasn't meant to stay there. I knew there were better places out there for me.
Although, I had to leave my friends, my school, and my family. All in all, I wasn't all that distraught about my move to Seattle.
When we moved me and my mom drove there.. I had no idea in the slightest, why she wanted to drive that far. So the worst part about my whole move, was probably the drive there. It was unpleasant, and boring. My butt was hurting within the first two hours of the drive. All I had to keep me company was my iPod and my annoying little sister. So for majority of my trip I was half asleep listening to music. I was half asleep was because my termite of a sister would not stop tapping me and kicking the back of my chair.
I'm still confused to this day why my mother had another child. Most people want siblings, I never did.
I'm about 17 and a half right now. My little sister was born when I was 13. So that makes her about 4 years old. She has put through 4 years of pure torture... She is always getting the attention! Margaret this, Margaret that, blah blah blah..
By the way, I'm James, I forgot to mention my name..
As I was saying earlier, I'm kind of glad I moved to Seattle! We have lived in Seattle for about 2 months now, and I have noticed a huge spike in my all around happiness. I have found my niche, I'm finally fitting in! It seems like my life is like this huge puzzle, I have just found that missing piece.
Well, one day when I was walking through the forest, I felt like I was being pulled somewhere. As if, there was a huge magnet pulling me in. So, I'm walking and walking and walking, then I notice this little cave that leads into the ground. I went ahead and entered the cave. I almost slipped at first, the rocks near the entrance were very moist. I kept going into it, deeper and deeper into the cave. I noticed throughout my trek through the cave, that there was little bits of what looked like metal shrapnel.
This cave was huge, at this point I was about 200ft into the cave when I saw a slight glow. The glow shuddered, and flickered, I had find out what this was.
